

HEART is a peer-led, skills building intervention designed to reduce HIV risk behaviors among Asian and Pacific Islander transgender women in Los Angeles County. Based on the framework of the evidence-based intervention SISTA, this multi-session program seeks empower transgender women to negotiate safer sex with their partners as well as to enhance their self esteem and self-worth.
Participants receive information on HIV/AIDS facts, correct ways to use a condom, as well as effective safer-sex negotiation techniques.
