APAIT Orange County

Volunteer Programs

Volunteer Coordinator: Jonathan White

Volunteers are one of the reasons of our success here in Orange county. Here at APAIT OC, we offers volunteers a variety of job options to choose from whether it's programmatic support or to assist in community-related activities or groups such Turntable and L.E.T.S talk. All OC Program staff are products of our volunteer program and not only can APAIT be a great resume builder, but APAITOC is a great way to build community relationships and cultivate job skills.

"The work that you do is so very important, and with all the crazy, disheartening things that go on this world, it makes me feel better, and a little less jaded, just to know that there are people like you out there doing such good work."

Sharon Stein, Orange County Intern 2006

Outreaches

For more information, please contact us at (714) 636-1349.

In order to maintain our community presence, our staff conducts outreaches at various venues throughout Orange County and the City of Long Beach. These venues include nightclubs, bars, sex clubs, street festivals, and community events. In addition, we also outreach at local college campuses as well as private parties.

During our outreaches we provide information to members of the community on HIV/AIDS and answer questions they may have about taking an HIV test or HIV/AIDS referrals and services. We also provide safer sex kits (SSKs) which contain condoms, lube, and information on where to get tested for HIV and other STDs. We also hand out flyers promoting upcoming agency events and events sponsored by other surrounding agencies.

If you would like more information on our outreaches, or if you would like to become a volunteer and assist us with our program or outreaches: call us at (714) 636-1349.
