Community Health Education and Support Services (CHESS)
APAIT Health Center offers free community health education programs to raise awareness about chronic disease prevention and increase community health literacy. These programs include HIV testing, chronic disease education, and social support groups at both Los Angeles and Orange County locations.
A peer-led, skills building intervention designed to reduce HIV risk behaviors among transgender women in Los Angeles County.
A leadership program designed to identify and empower gay leaders in Los Angeles to help curb the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
A youth leadership program for LGBT Asian/Pacific Islander men aged 18-24 to recruit and empower influential leaders to initiate conversations on HIV testing in their communities.
A peer-led individual counseling and prevention case management program for transgender women.
An individual Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services (CRCS) program for Asian and Pacific Islander gay and non-gay identified men and transgender women.
A social support group for gay, queer, bisexual, and questioning Asian and Pacific Islander men.
Programs and Services at our Orange County satellite office:
A counseling program that provides one-on-one, weekly sessions to address sexual risk for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), adherence to HIV medical treatments, societal/cultural stigma, substance abuse avoidance, health care access, and disclosure of status.
A one-on-one, multi-session counseling program for ethnic minority young adults in southern Los Angeles and Orange County, with the goal of reducing substance abuse and HIV transmission, as well as motivating positive decision-making.
